AI borg+Light Grenade

So it was a round and I was rogue as heck AI and the shuttle was on the way and I was in my AI borg shell, there was a c saber on the ground in escape and it ended up being a disguised light grenade that Wire planted there for shitsngiggles, my shell was of course vaporized but I was not returned to my core so I was dead and a ghost but my core self in my upload was still alive.

Ghost can return to their bodies assuming It's still around and since you said your core was there you should have been able to return to your core I think. Pretty weird thing to happen.

You can also kill the AI and it live as ong as its in a shell.
