So I was going to make a bug report regarding chat not scrolling up with text. None of the usual rememdies helped when I consulted with a couple of admins and I came to here.
Little background, my chat had been broken for a good couple months, ever since the first chat update. The chat just wouldn't load, it would have that text about coming to these forums just stuck there. I didn't get around to coming to report it and it fixed itself with the new chat update but the scrolling problem presented itself.
Now for the fix, I am using Win XP and didn't have the latest IE version installed. It can't be gotten from windows anymore so I found an alternative download for the IE 8 and installed it and voila it works. I think all of my chat problems stemmed from not having IE 8 installed so this is a possible fix for future chat troubles on the Windows XP.
