Synopsis: I believe to have been banned for a misunderstanding after an active round. Over the course of 100 minutes I made friends, enemies, interacted, encountered and fought as a Monkey Staffie, only to get a 24 hour ban for it halfway through the next round where I got Traitor, the ban message a massive oversimplification and no attempts made to get my perspective on it. I understand and respect your time, I understand this is your form of a warning, but I'm so certain that if you just sent me a message explaining my perspective we would've both agreed my actions were well within the rules and intentions of the game.
Extra information: "You have been banned by leahthetech. Reason: Got hulk as a staff assistant and then spent the rest of the round running around looking for antags to beat up while shouting variations of "SUFFER NOT THE TRAITOR TO LIVE" - this would be mildly shit behaviour on classic but is definitely not okay on RP.
I kept the Synopsis brief, so here's the long version, first my disagreements, then the full story: I got hulk as staff assistant because it was the first and only gene in the booth for a long time and was never locked, even as half the crew ran around green-skinned. I did not spend the rest of the round running around for antags, rivalry formed between me and him from way early in the round when they asked my help and used the chance to murder someone. Conversely, the other antag stole the skin of someone I befriended, their takeover was advertised on the radio and they fled when they let slip they didn't know me despite our time together that round. I was only one of the people who dogpiled on the two outted antags. My halfbaked 40k quotes were shouts of joy, of victory, once the course of the battle had been decided and the Changelings were gasping on the floor. It was not some kind of incoherent spam like the ban makes it sound like. I RP'd plentifully that round. I chatted, I formed rivalries and friendships, I was betrayed and sought vengeance, I enjoyed myself with the company of others and RP'd on the RP server, completely unlike what the ban reason downplays my actions into.

My take: I've said bad things in the past before, I agree they were mistakes, I reflected and I learned from them. But in this case it is my actions being punished without any attempts at communication or correction. Am I not supposed to socialize with people, forming rivalries and friendships? Am I supposed to sit back and ignore obvious Antags who I have in-RP reasons to confront after they're ran wild for 90% of the round? I don't believe that's the case, I believe there's been a misunderstanding here.

And to finish it off for optional context, an extended description of the round: I rolled staff assistant and went to work on the generated goals. During this I came across the Mail courier and Quartermaster arguing. I vocally supported the prior but after the latter killed a mimic for me in maints he asked me to help deal with the prior. I went along with it in RP, being a monkey who had a butt on his head, because that's what my generated goals said. He took this oppertunity to kill the Courier, making me an accidental accomplice as I went to fetch help, reporting it to the chain of command. Some more RP ensued as the Quartermaster poisoned the captain and the Security officer who arrested him was convinced the Captain was an evildoer. Confused, me and the Quartermaster follower and I looked on as all sorts of hijinks occurred between the three. Either Quartermaster or Security Officer were a Changeling, that much they made clear. I chose to stay my hand and the Quartermaster swore off his friendship with me and I returned the words. Had a chill cooling-down chat with the Security Officer, formed a friendly bond.

After some more RP, chatting with the cloned Mailman and such, the Quartermaster started going wild, causing all sorts of chaos on the station, making clear he was an antagonist. He lied to me, made me an accomplice to his murder, and with nothing else to focus on, I desired vengeance. Lo and behold, the only Gene in the booth, not locked for some reason, at the standard 200 credits, was Gamma Ray Exposure, the perfect tool. Hijinks ensued once more as Quartermaster fought the Security Officer from earlier on the bridge. Caught by a stray of the Quartermaster's flamethrower, I helped save the Officer from her burns. After both got healed up the three of us crossed paths once more and my character helped the Security Officer like a good law abiding citizen, but didn't go for the kill, letting the Officer do the arresting. Mimicking what he had asked me to do to the Mail Courier earlier. However the Quartermaster kept getting up and escaping from cuffs, so it took a while as he refused to surrender. A succeful arrest seemd to occur and I moved on. I ran into him later in the chapel as I noticed more personnel being tended to and he was gloating over those still present. A brief exchange of words followed and I chased him off as he ejected himself from the Chapel chute. At the end of two of those encounters I survived Neurotoxin twice thanks to doctors, so I would've died both times if it wasn't for them.

These repeated encounters fueled our rivalry further. From a dumb monkey who got roped into his crimes to a hulked-up monkey keeping him from running wild. Let me be clear, he was a Ling, he chose to stay himself and cause chaos in his own skin. I wasn't trying to sus anyone out or do any investigating, I just confronted the antagonist when I happened to run into him at large, fury fueled by our history.

Eventually I heard on the radio that my Sec Officer buddy ingested a headspider. I assumed it was the Quartermaster and ran over to medical. A second officer brought her but didn't seem to care when she was suddenly fine. A different crewmate called out something, incriminating her, but no one cared and everyone dispersed. But I followed. I called out to my Sec officer friend. I told them I knew and asked them about our conversation as other people suspicious of her gathered. She didn't know me. Didn't know we talked. And then she interrupted herself and ran. We chased her down and with my fists and a doctor's saw we put the Ling out of its misery as it was wearing the skin of the last Sec Officer it ate out of many. In joy at the death gasp I threw out some half-baked Warhammer 40k quotes and headed to escape.

On the shuttle home I found the QM once more, or rather two people were calling him out for being an evil alien, trying to catch everyone's attention. With a lack of security interest/remaining presence on the way home, my green monkey fists finished the Quartermaster off, putting an end to our rivalry. I repeated the half-baked quote a few more times in celebration, elation, which I assume caught the attention of leahthetech who skimmed over the round and found me deserving of the 24 hour ban.

Okay I've had another look through the logs. I don't want to discourage crew from fighting antagonists when they really have to or have a reason to, but I do still think you went a little too far here and were more on the side of looking for an excuse rather than reacting to things happening in the round. It's a fine line sometimes but it's an important distinction to make.
In any case, this is a 24 hour ban so I suggest you just sit it out.
