When you get handcuffed, the cuffs now appear in one of your hand slots. Seems to be random.

Confirmed, I was cuffed, flashed, welded in crate, and sold via QM. Once the crate vanished, I was out in space, still cuffed but with the cuffs appearing in my hand.
