Usual character name: Ratt Ratmann/Symes (Anton 4145/von Fennec, Jurij Domogarow)
BYOND username: cropsey
Discord username (if you are on our discord): cropseyy
Recommended by (if applicable): N/A.
Goon servers you play: 3, 4.
Reason for application + game experience (300 word minimum): I have over 1.9k hours in game, and over time as there's a player turnover, I've noticed that a level of skill has been lost- newer players just aren't getting the same level of depth in mechanics as there has been in the past. I'd like to be able to share what I've figured out by trial and error, especially the little things, and get more people immersed in the deeper mechanics, hopefully showing them what they might have otherwise missed.
It would be nice to be more able to help folks figure things out without having to be physically there in-character, peering over their shoulder as borg, rodent or AI, which I can't always do, because I don't know if people need a hand if I don't see them.
As for game experience: I've moved around a lot in terms of what I play most. I've had periods of maining medical, maining security, botany, trash goblin and engineer. I think I've hit a lot of points of the game, though there's always more to pick up.
Aside from the obvious "I picked up medical playing medical and security playing security" - there are plenty of mentors more robust and better medics than I - can usually be found in maints as Ratt- this has let me get familiar with item uses that are a little niche, improvised medical and I know my way around the in rotation maps, which helps immensely with pointing people in the right direction.
Symes is my main silicon character. Other than the mechanics of playing AI or silicon, a bird's eye view of the station gives you an opportunity to help out with setting up the engines, computers- secmate, botany, and anything else, and I hope provides an example that I am able to help explain how to do something rather than just doing it for someone.
Previous bans (while this will not affect your application lying about it will): 1x 100 minute(?) ban from Zamusjaa, all servers for saying everypony after being told pony-related greetings were verboten. I have no idea what the date was. A few other warnings, though I don't recall any for several months.
