Random/Daily jobs
#1
I think random/daily jobs should be updated, wanting a job for a gimmick in the round but it being impossible without admin intervention kinda stinks so here is my idea:

Daily jobs are killed, these suck and basically force you to play on a certain day if you want to try a certain job. Random jobs are still randomised at roundstart but theres a set amount of random jobs there can be (e.g. 6 or so) rather than each one having a 40% chance of being in any given round. Random jobs however can now be edited with the RoleControl program, which currently only sets priority, this lets the Captain, HoP or HoS go "we are having a bunch of court cases this round, lets change that empty food critic slot for a lawyer", it doesn't guarantee you get one but it does allow it to actually happen without admin intervention.

Sounds good. That's it. This just sounds like a really good thing. I like the idea of more random pools mixing up potential jobs per round, I always felt that generally speaking I never actually saw say: lots of boxers joining to all box together (which you could if you made the randomisation element sometimes being set pieces like this) and having five waiters always seems a little crazy.

The role control part also makes sense to me.

RoleControl having the ability to open up additional job slots is an idea that has been brought up a few times, and something I really want in the game. I'm considering writing it up myself.

i've always found the idea of some of those roles very fun but actually never got to play them because of the days being absurd (LOOKING AT YOU, **MONDAY.**)
so this change is very welcome to me, maybe now i'll get to try forcing everyone to Play Board Games All Shift Long as dungeoneer

Some should open up under certain conditions, like if Chef and Bartender are both filled, Waiter becomes available.

Should have something like a few slots that are set to randomize, some that are fixed, and HoP having some kind of influence.

Maybe jobs can have certain round influencing implications? Like if exterminator is available more roaches, ants, and mice appear on station?

in that case, i feel like pest control specialists should raise the rate of the Pest Invasion random event? (would that stack too?)

Spacebux redeem for staff assistant job role, 1000 spacebux, refunded on not staffie roll.

Gives you a random gimmick job instead of staff assistant on roundstart.

I kinda feel like we should borrow the Sec token functionality, but for Staff Assistants.

HoP creates list of job slots to be filled, stick a token in to claim a job and get dispensed some gear for it. Get more tokens after the HoP marks the job as complete

I think it'd be cool if you could also set a way so that you could replace staff assistant with your preferred gimmick job at round start instead of latejoining for it (maybe only if it would be available? Although that kinda defeats the point of it). Might also need to be an entirely separate job in the menu since most gimmick jobs have only 1 slot, and it'd be weird if more than there were supposed to be appeared/it defaults to staffie instead when you'd rather play another job over staffie if you can't be the gimmick one.
Don't know how possible this would really be considering I don't think any of the jobs have had anything remotely similar to this, and I imagine they might not be made to handle something like this.

I just wanted to chime in on the RoleControl and talks of improving HoP functionality, these are great conversations to be had and I feel like there are a lot of very good ideas being brought up here. I really like the Staffie/HoP dynamic with the "Job Tokens" laid out above 10/10 keep it up folks
