Eztyr-IV (10 Earth Cycles ago) (49 hours before planet death.)
---
Raoul relaxed on the dark blue grass and looked at the green sky above, the three moons orbiting the planet where meant to line up in time for night on the planet coming up a rare mix of a lunar eclipse and lunar alignment in one. The planet was a Super-tellurian type, as such for the extra mass a day for the planet was around 48 hours equivalently on Earth. It took about the same time to make a planet cycle though, so the months where not counted and it was essentially the days of a season instead. But, he was rambling to himself in thought. Raoul was mostly looking to the stars as he hoped one day to get a license and permit to be able to operate with the spaceships attached to the station that the space elevator was connected to. For the time being though, he was a simple staff member for the logistics group who ran the goods up and down the orbital elevator, alongside taking inventory and the other things akin to those working in cargo. He was on his first three hour break for the though and was making the most of it to rest and recover, dreaming of the fantasy to one day be able to explore more, like his parents believed his hair and eyes symbolised...

Eztyr-IV (10 Earth Cycles ago) (40 hours before planet death.)

Raoul gets up in a daze, before he passed out he heard loud creaking, and a colossal sound of something crashing, and he thought he even heard something, maybe even two things detonating underwater. A wave of the water from the splash of the space station, attached ships and orbital elevator debris, had knocked him against a tree and rendered him unconscious. He didn't know how long he was out, but where the orbital elevator once stood as a strong chain between the planet and stars above laid shattered. He could see the debris in the waters, whilst it was an ocean the sheer mass of the station, parts of the orbital elevator, space station and what was one or two space ships, could be seen somewhat poking out of the waters. It was not safe to go there, it was not safe to drink the water even if filtered he reckoned... He tries to head to the local city, thankfully he didn't own a home on the land around the orbital elevator like he wanted, or a sky island held aloft via chains and technology. He was taking it slow getting there though, unaware what horrors where already happening, and the fate that was to be bestowed on him against his will.

Eztyr-IV (10 Earth Cycles ago) (34 hours before planet death.)

Raoul had managed to get to a city, it was where his home is, or rather, where it was. He had arrived at one an hour ago and used his card to get a Solcycle, it was like a motorbike but due to the nature and tech of the planet, they had ways to easily accumulate and store large amounts of the solar energy into power for later. Especially from a white dwarf star. By the time he arrived at where his home was in the capital due to the panic, blockades and all such other things had happened, that people thought would keep them safe, or where in such a hurry to leave, they caused issues for others. He was already a bit exhausted but managed to get himself to keep going. The problem was by the time he reached his home, his home was gone. Not just his, but the entire area that he lived at, neighbours and all where just missing. Nothing but skeletal remnants of what was people and animals, what looked like some bloodstained things from violence, and housing that was burnt to nothing, crumbling from damage or had already crumbled from it all. It was too late to save anything but he still went in to check. He knew it was too good to be true when there was nothing left, and all he knew was now, was that getting to the starport might be a good place to be, assumedly those who had weapons, tactics and other such survival instincts where going to head there to defend and evacuate he reckons. He drives to where it is, though as he does, small sparkling droplets trail behind, his tears he sheds for his home, his family, and those who are already lost to the unfortunate events.

Eztyr-IV (10 Earth Cycles ago) (06 hours before planet death.)

Raoul didn't have any belongings on him other than his ID, his somewhat stained attire, and a makeshift weapon from some scrap he had. It had been a long drive for him, so much so that the Solcycle had run out of fuel part way, and he moved it aside and had to walk the rest of the way. Grimacing at the abandoned and slowly more desolate signs of life. The nature at least seemed untouched, but he couldn't enjoy it, he had to press on. His attire and weapon had been stained from attacking some things that seemed to want to kill him, he was a bit bruised, but he was okay otherwise. Eventually he made it into the spaceport, and met up with a group of survivors who where there too. He was relieved to see others alive. Though shortly after he had passed out from exhaustion by the group. The few other people with him in the area where safe, including a medic who was tending to the group. Though the group could hear something in the distance and headed to it. About 15 minutes later Raoul woke up from his exhaustion and he saw a note on the table that read. "Headed to a sound from Gate 14" It seemed like the group may have heard someone else alive or so in his view or a danger they wanted to be rid of, but he headed to the Gate in question. Hoping that he and the group could all leave safely.

Eztyr-IV (10 Earth Cycles ago) (00 hours before planet death.)
---
As Raoul arrived at Gate 14, he saw the worst possible sight he could, a woman standing amidst a pile of bodies in the moonlight of the eclipse he wanted to see. He recognised the bodies as the group he was meant to be with and escape this planet from. Did he get saved from the fate, was she a survivor or lucky too... Or was she-- Raoul didn't have much time to react and dropped his weapon as he dodged something that tried to attack him. What he didn't expect as he focused his looks, was that the woman who was amidst the bodies was the one who tried to strike him, he would later come to know this individual... But for now he picked up the makeshift spear he had and tried to at least strike at the woman and avenge whomever else fell to this woman... But it was no use, she was clearly better at combat than Raoul as she disarmed him, she wounded him albeit non-fatally, and as it felt like he might be joining the group. He noticed that she just stopped paying attention to him, as if something else caught her attention. Raoul stumbled back and felt the controls for the shuttle near him. He silently cursed that he couldn't do anything to help or avenge anyone, but figured one person escaping alive was better than none... So he did all he could do... He fled in the shuttle to the stars...

Space and The Void (10 Earth Cycles ago - 2 Earth Cycles ago)
---
Raoul unfortunately in the shuttle had issues and no idea where to go, but he just set it for somewhere safe and away from Eztyr-IV. Although the shuttle eventually had things trying to attack it, and Raoul climbed inside one of the cryogenic emergency escape pods from the shuttle. It launched and saved him from the shuttle which, before the cryogenics took effect, he saw it crash into an asteroid and before he could confirm it exploded, the cryogenics took effect as he fell asleep and was frozen in time. After drifting through space for years as the pod was focusing on preserving the life inside, it entered the void via a rupture or tear in space. As it entered the void, something within it sensed the new individual and sought to corrupt and make Raoul into one of it's denizens, damaging the pod a little to wake him and let the connection happen. Though, whilst Raoul awoke he ended up going back under from the cryogenics, though his mind was essentially assaulted by the void. After only two earth years though, his pod was found and fixed by someone in the void and it managed to escape, with the individual who fixed it hitching a ride on the side of the pod. Raoul wouldn't know but the individual had some high tech gear, and utilised a device to get ship larger than the shuttle he had to the location of the pod. When it did they loaded the pod inside and opened it, ensuring Raoul was still comatose as they checked his vitals before implanting sleeper codes into him. They didn't use any mindhacks for now and copied his DNA for themselves too... Eventually he was put back in the modified pod asleep, and it was released with an NT distress beacon attached and some NT modifications to make it look like it was theirs. Unaware that he was only "saved" to be used in a fight between two corporate entities...
