What is it?
Cold War is an idea inspired by revolution.
Cold War is similar to revolution, in that there are 2 factions at play. Nanotrasen vs Syndicate.
How does it work?
There would be 2 syndicate aligned players at round start. 1 would be the syndicate AI that's hidden away on the syndicate shuttle, and the other would be a syndicate agitator who spawns in on the station. Both the agitator and AI would be connected with a unique cyborg talk channel. The AI would be the brains of the operation, where the agitator would be the muscle.
The agitator would be responsible for converting people to the cause. However, not necessarily everyone can be converted out of the gate. The AI would be able to see on a department basis which crew members would be the most ripe for the converting. The more people in a certain department are recruited, the more that department becomes vulnerable.
The AI would also be in charge of distributing TC to the agitator, and can send the standard syndicate traitor application to a person's PDA, so that they may buy things with TC.
In addition, there could be some unique items for this game mode, geared towards converting things besides players. Converting monkeys who attack command/security, as well as something that would allow cyborgs to be converted through the use of a device that goes into the cyborg brain.
What's the endgame?
The idea is to convert people to the syndicate cause. After converting an amount of people, the syndicate AI is given the ability to begin converting the main station AI. Once accomplished, the syndicate revolution is tasked with eliminating the remaining heads of staff and decapitating the Nanotrasen leadership aboard the station. If none are alive/off the station, it's gg.
How are people converted?
Choice of:
revflash
or
rev implant gun.
The syndicate AI would be able to eventually purchase more revflashes for the agitator, and also for standard revs.
How is this different from standard revolution?
Normal revolution mode has 3 rev heads, that if slain, would cause the round to end. Similarly, the round would end if all heads of staff were dead/offstation. The idea here is to have some more structured chaos, rather than randomly flashing people and hoping everything works out. apes together strong
How does the crew fight back?
Ideally, this would promote more stealth. A sort of rot that slowly eats away from the station inside out. An agitator who plays their hand too early risks death. In the event of the agitator dying with there being no other revs, the round ends in favor of a crew victory. If the agitator dies and there are multiple revs present, the AI must quickly choose a replacement, or risk shutting down.
