So i was a QM traitor who had to steal the AI's brain, i decided to murder the captain and order a cyalume saber, i went into the AI upload and lasered the turrets and smashed it's face in with the saber and then dragged it off through space to QM, but to my dismay
i couldn't take the brain out at all
not certain if it's a bug or feature but it seems pretty weird that you cant take the brain out of a dead AI ( at least one killed by brute damage) , cause then how do we replace the AI if it dies

I think what he is saying is that he destroved the AI in order to safely move it but then found that he was unable to remove the brain from the destroyed AI.

Yes, and Dauntasa was pointing out that you -destroyed- the brain.

I don't think the AI can actually be outright gibbed just with a c-saber. I think it's hard to do even with explosions.
Did you do the full sequence to open the AI up?

yup, i also completely repaired it after killing it, so i thought i would at least get a message about it being cut up or something, like ash slipping through your fingers.
i also did the full sequence with all the tools just to make sure that it being dead didnt require any other tools than the regular, i also unbolted and bolted it to the floor for both operations, i think it's a bug.

Honestly, even if it is a bug, it doesn't sound like one that really needs to be changed. If you've got to steal the AI, I would imagine that you're supposed to try and take the live brain, not kill it and then box the pieces up for delivery to the Syndicate.
