Little Python script (should be compatible with v2 and v3) that creates placeholders for maps which contain objects you don't have in your code, using data from the map itself to create any variables necessary to avoid map information loss.
Originally created with the objective of accessing modern code maps in 2016 code, but works in other contexts as well. Usage information is listed in both the script and the read-me.
WARNING: This is a somewhat janky bit of script. If for some reason you're using it for porting, be sure to remove the created placeholder file before you call the map done to ensure you haven't missed anything.
