That's about it, really. They make enough noise to get attention, and are a nice way to both order plants/eggs, and let botanists/ranchers reference the order as they work on it.

I don't think I really stress this point well. Especially in lowpop of like 5 people, everyone is doing their own thing. They will either ignore or refuse your requests. Always what I see.

I dunno, I see cyborgs regularly go an entire round without a single part upgrade, simply because there's nobody around to do it.
