A ghost critter performing a surgery step will make completing the surgery impossible - sartorius - 12-05-2017
Tried to borg myself as a critter to see if it was possible and found that the process just keeps repeating the last message you get before completing a surgery without actually doing it, i.e. it will state that you remove a brain every time you interact with a subject. Any human surgeons trying to interact with the corpse will get the same message too.

Cutting off heads doesn't work either, it gives pretty much the same message as mentioned by sartorius but the head still remains connected to the body.
EDIT: Also at the time I was performing surgery I was human and no critter had interacted with the body so I guess the surgeries are broken for the humans as well.

Ghost critters no longer can use surgery tools and the actions no longer cause issue. Mark this one as fixed.
