If a Test Subject is scanned while a monkey, dies, and is cloned, the clone pops out of the cloning pod as a human instead of a monkey.

Monkeyism is determined by a gene. Genes don't transfer over when cloned, which while nonsensical from a realism perspective is a Good Thing™ from a gameplay perspective.
