I'm not sure if this is intended, but the Drone-X can shoot it's robust lasers through walls.

That the one shooting the purple beam? It shoots through shield barriers as well, and around corners. Bastard of a thing.

This isn't a bug. Cogwerks has said if it can't path to you it will just shoot through walls.

It's a railgun. It does not care about walls. I could make it wreck the walls though so it's a little more obvious what's going on.
