Or so it seems. I died exploreing on foot, and when I went around the area as a ghost, I went near a drone. This drone then activated and attacked my pod which I had parked 2-3 screens away from the drone, and on the other side of a wall from it.

Drones wake up from their sleep routine once in awhile and check to see if there are any valid targets within their seek range, which is wider than a visual screen. They hunger for vehicles, even unoccupied ones.
