Probably because it's implicated at any given time that there may be far more than we actually get to see, vaguely nudged at with mysterious clues that go nowhere and items that are red herrings all the way up to total leaks of the game's code

And because it's a huge totemic force that fucks with the coding in general due to it being a secret not to be easily leaked (though that's more to prevent people being spoiled than abused) and affecting how the code branches

When stuff isn't being fixed or updated and coders are silent as to what's the current work in progress, there are two conclusions that people can draw as to what is actually being worked on:

A) Super-secret stuff that can't be spoken of out loud because that would spoil the entire point of it

B) Bugger-all

'The coders are probably just working on sol stuff' is actually the more optimistic conclusion.

(For the record, this isn't a line of thinking I actually subscribe to. I do think the coders are probably doing their best, I'm just not sure what they think is best for the server aligns with the views of the current player base, nor do they seem to be especially interested in reconciling the two.)

While it may not be as flashy as sol do remember that there are lots of smaller things that are worked on like bug fixes, the new explosion code that doesn't lag, better movement, etc

Isn't that exactly what needing to do actual algebra and use an outside resource that new people won't know about does?

Yeah, hence why I said very least. It's a solution aimed to be easy to implement.

Ze's lol: I think what coders usually work on is fixing what other coders break. I just assume that in any coding project. The next thing I assume y'all are working on are back-end stuff that never gets seen. Visible features come last, but they're the only thing people tend to see so they latch onto them.

Funny though. Sol is much more a mapping project than it was a coding one. Actually thinking the places up probably took the most time.

I feel like a lot of problems currently stem from the low player count. In the past we'd have 4 servers, 2 of them usually stocked with 60 people which usually guaranteed a full head and sec force where now we're lucky to get 30 people on just one server. Nobody playing security is a big issue and makes lowpop suck sometimes, and especially rev when you only have 1-2 heads and the round is over in 10 minutes. I pray that summer brings more players or something because we really need a population boost.
