Does RED ALERT even do anything except turn some lights red nowadays? It's annoying but there's about a million more annoying things the mechanics could actually be doing.

It broadcasts a big announcement message and plays a blaring siren globally.

Since the red alert cool down is separate for each button, you can copy a whole bunch of buttons and then spam the ever-living daylights out of that godawful klaxon.

It also (or at least used to) causes a bunch of lag when spammed because of the lights
