Magboots stop drifting movement while standing in space. Tossing items/using the fire extinguisher moves you by one square, but does not give momentum.

As far as I know, this is the intended use of the boots, to give you stability in space. They're designed to work best with a jetpack, where they keep you from drifting off once you let go of the movement key.
Best not to ask how they do this with magnets though. Corporate secrets and all.

Isn't that basically their exact purpose? Standing still in space so you can construct floors and stuff without space wind blowing you every which way.
