Last time I checked, waiting any amount of time doesn't let you suicide again, at all. Also I'm assuming you were pulled away from what you were suiciding with, THEN you hit the button, and it just checked the item was close enough, went 'nope' and ignored it, but after you put in the suicide command, it immediately does the "You're already committing suicide, please wait"
