Telesci needs to be "primed" before it can receive critters - Sov - 01-16-2017

If you try to receive a critter through the teleporter from the station / debris field (zombies, fermids, etc) it will not work at first. To make it work you seem to need to "prime" the teleporter first. You just open a portal to somewhere safe-ish - walk through it-and return. After doing that any subsequent attemps to bring in critters works fine.



This may also be true for receiving humans too, but I didn't have any to test it with.

I'm not coder, but I wanna suggest that maybe this is due to critters themselves not being active until they're in range of a player.

Fairly sure SpyGuy was made that happen at some point to save on resources.

this would make sense if correct. Usually I open the portal just a few tiles away from the targets

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that is what we do.
