Strange reagent zombies? - Wraithcraft - 12-10-2016

(LARGE EDIT)
It seems that people think that strange reagent should be left alone, and instead there should be either a secret version with the zombie chance or a zombie chem by itself.
I like the idea of a zombie chem, maybe involving Strange Reagent and Rotting? Something like that.

As always, leave suggestions, criticisms and additional ideas below!

I could possibly code this in if you guys want. This could be used by a traitor chemist who wanted to turn his pile of stolen corpses into zombies for a undead zombie, but that could lead to griefing and would make strange reagent overpowered, meaning the recipe would need to be secret.

Make a (secret) stronger version of SR that has a chance to turn you into a zombie and heals you. Also with a higher damage limit.

It could be called top secret reagent, something only the best of the best syndicate scientists know how to make, but it could be randomly found in traitor poison bottles.

I think SR zombies used to be a thing, but got taken out because people kept running them into the ground.

Fairly neutral on them returning myself, just giving some historical context.

I'd avoid accidental zombies. I had a penchant for making zombie zoos for a while and I can attest to how quickly an accidental zombie can become an accidental zombie horde.

Now if we're talking about a specific chem that makes zombies, that's fine; just keep it away from SR.

We could have a specific chem that isn't SR, but another chem that functioned like it, but was much more potent, which is called 'top secret chem'.

please please please please please let them be playable and not npc zombies

RE: Strange reagent zombies? - misto - 12-10-2016

maybe it could be ok if it were a miserably tiny chance like 1%, i was around for a couple of the times when ppl went wild for causing zombie outbreaks and it got old fast

For influence: Trioxin

A chemical designed as an herbicide for cannabis fields turning people into the undead sounds very ss13, now that I think about it.

babayetu83: Ah, player zombies. I think the last time I was one of those was... Halloween 2014? Been a while.

Trioxin sounds like a great name. I need to see in the source, where the zombie player code is located, if it still exists, but I could add that in.

Edit: It does as a mutant race.

What about making a failed SR resurrection turn the player into a crappy sorta-zombie, where instead of eating the crew and transforming them into a horde of unstoppable nightmares, they just kinda shamble around, bits of them are missing, accumulating damage and just like a mangled corpse that's suddenly alive for she reason.

Or it could just gib them and give the player control of one of the organs.

then why not make it non-transmissible through eating brains then instead of punishing the community at large for the acts of a bunch of grifers

every brain you eat gives you points to upgrade your zombie, one of the abilities is the chance to infect, so like mebe you gotta eat at least 3 or 5 branes before you even start to have a chance to make more zombies??

RE: Strange reagent zombies? - ferriswheel1 - 12-11-2016

Personally, I'd see this as more of a secret chem thing really, SR is trivial enough to make loads of if you know how. If you wanted it on SR, I would have it on trigger on high enough BRUTE and BURN damage to the corpse.
