Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - The Grim Sleeper - 08-05-2016

The shuttle cannot be called until the station budget exceeds 50k credits.

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - Musketman12 - 08-05-2016

The budget already starts with 100k.

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - Frank_Stein - 08-05-2016

Seems more like a good AI ion storm law

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - misto - 08-05-2016

the ai has no way of recalling the shuttle so it would have to shut down several apcs or destroy several comm consoles to ensure shuttle non-calledness

make it a crew objective for captains and hops and shit

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - medsal15 - 08-05-2016

Change the 50k to a million. And pray for good engineers.

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - atomic1fire - 08-05-2016

Suggestion, since having to wait for the crew to all kill themselves would kinda suck, after a certain time length let captain declare bankruptcy so the escape shuttle will come by and evict everybody.

On that note, Have things like a percentage of vending machine sales count towards bill pay.

Just so the crew has an antagonist to beat up, occasionally have enforcers show up to steal cash and genuinely be jerks to the crew.

Maybe even give lawyers a console so they can haggle with the bank for a smaller final amount or minimum payments.

A portion of vending machine sales already goes to the QM budget.

I don't know

now I want a way to hack them to make the money go to my bank account.  Or to make them fall and crush anyone who tries to buy anything.

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - misto - 08-07-2016

you would have to set the goal money amount really high. you can find tens of thousands of bux in the couches with a bit of luck. and then theres gambling, qm sales, the ptl, hunting for gold bars, getting money has never been easier

Crazy idea that's related to this thread:

What if you had to have a certain amount of money in order to call the shuttle during !!normal!! rounds? You can still order an evacuation without the money, but, if you don't have the dosh to cover the cost of a proper evacuation vessel, you wind up with a small, structurally unsound life dinghy instead.

Budget Shuttle - Free!
This shuttle may begin falling apart and inflight repairs may be required to reach CentComm. In addition the older faulty engines mean a longer time to reach station and return to Centcomm. (Random 10-15 minute arrival time to station and random 2-4 minute station to CentComm jump.)

Premium Shuttle - $75,000!
This serviceable shuttle will reliably get you to CentComm barring any interruption that may arise from, say, a Syndicate agent with bombs. (Normal arrival and departure windows.)

Deluxe Shuttle - $500,000!
You have it made and your shuttle will make it too! Made of invulnerable patented Unobtanium this is essentially the current shuttle. It arrives quick and arrives at Centcomm on time. (5 minute call instead of 10).

Exactly what I was thinking.

I think there was a thread somewhere proposing crazy alternate shuttle designs, maybe they could be implemented like this.

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - Calebc789 - 08-08-2016

Luxury Shuttle - $1,000,000

A gold-plated version of the deluxe shuttle with leather couches instead of shuttle seats. Includes a mini-bar and inertial dampeners (no knockdown if not buckled in during launch) to ensure a relaxing flight.

RE: Game Mode: Pay the Bills! - misto - 08-08-2016

and plasma glass windows, and gold grilles, and arcade machines
