This should be in bug reports, but no worries, we can nerf it anyway!

Little did you guys know, Tips N' Tricks threads are just honey traps for nerfing nerd tactics. Well done, Birb.

If you are murdering a blob with a flamethrower but run out of fuel, you still have the pilot light! Just smacking a blob with a flamethrower in melee with the igniter lit will deal the same damage as a welder, and it will never run out of fuel!

Spam-clicking an igniter will destroy blob tiles that are directly on top of you. It only really helps if you're suddenly snagged, and the blob itself can still attack, but it does provide you a moment of safety from being absorbed.

The blob can still eat you if you have a fire source on you somehow.

Super pissed when I found that out the first time.

Try an ignitor attached to a proximity sensor

If you fill your backpack full of lit candles, you can break lamps and set things on fire just by standing near them!

Also candles make great blob barriers before they get thermal resistance and become unstoppable. Matches, too.

Every owlgib (owlsuit suicide or unstable hootagen) has a 1% chance of turning you into a player-controlled owl instead.

Someone test this immediately. I'm not sure I'd even want to remove it if it works, because that'd be just amazing.

Now that that round is over : It works.
just need to fart to turn on/off the mask valve.
it's the best feature in the world.

some devious mechanic traitor set up a teleporter trap? magboots work to keep you from teleporting on those pesky pads

are you an antagonist with a sleepy pen but don't know what good kill chems to fill? neuro is a pretty good and simple chem that in over 50 units generally kills and keeps the target unconscious for a long time, mix that with phlog and your victim will burn, die from poisoning, go unconscious, and go brain damaged!

Carrying an item counts as wearing it. If you wear a full space suit, jumpsuit, shoes and breathmask then carry a fire suit you will be 100% immune to heat and cold. You can walk around on fire in space and will take no damage.

Untested but it might also work for damage reduction gear

I reported this as a bug before and was told it's a feature

The P hotkey :shelterfrog:

RE: Tips N' Tricks & Little things you learned that are game changing. - CandleCandleCandles - 06-16-2018

P hotkey changed my life. Get knocked down and drop your item? (Without other clutter nearby?) Keep hitting P to keep picking it up without risking clicking yourself. Want to take one item from a lagfest stack? P is your friend. Beakers keep "falling behind" the dispenser? P. Want to snag something as you run by? Quickly grab something hidden under another sprite? Find out quickly if a particular item e.g. util belt is in a stack? P, then hit the first letter of what you're looking for to hop through the list. Anything is possible with P key.

Uh......I gotta be honest, I was half expecting it to be a hotkey to urinate.

RE: Tips N' Tricks & Little things you learned that are game changing. - Wisecrack34 - 06-17-2018

Change P key to something else so we can get a P-ing hotkey
