Botany oxygen production - Frank_Stein - 08-12-2015

Basically, have the plants in botany produce oxygen, with vents that collect excess oxygen and store it in a large canister.

Outside botany, have a public booth to hook up personal air tanks to and purchase air from botany, adding funds to the botanists account.

Large canisters can be hooked up at another spot accessible to engineers for replacing lost oxygen due to leaks.

Let there be a plant with a mutation to create an insane amount of oxygen if found.

Both of these are incredible ideas. People being able to fill up on air will help with hull breaches for new arrivals, and Botany could bring their super oxy-producer to fixed hull breaches to give them air, or use it to run a sort of shuttle service in areas of vacuum by dragging it behind them and leading people through.

A Good Idea. Let shrubs produce oxygen, so that when Officer McPubs burns the only one in sec after putting a flasher behind it the entire room is unbreatheable.

Perhaps if Botany had an extra gas chamber of sorts in space somewhere, Botanists could also grow plasma. Maybe with the plant the aliens used to use.

could be a mutation of the extreme oxygen plant, or could be a splicing of the plasmaglass plant and the extreme oxygen plant.

The main goal of this should be to convert the engine into an all-natural process from plasmaplants and oxyplants. Or create your own engine.

I really like all these ideas - and the idea of a renewable power source through multidepartment cooperation is awesome.

That said, would a synthlung plant produce Oxygen or Carbon Dioxide... I sincerely hope the latter.

It's a good idea game play wise,

but conservation of matter says that this idea makes no fucking sense.

Then again, not many ideas in this game make much sense, but we're essentially making air out of nothing, unless our 2D spessmen are to be given fully simulated breathing that causes CO2 to slowly build up.

A very simple burn can be hotter than the surface of the sun, chairs can trip you, magic is real, AI technology is used like a door opener, and changelings roam the halls consuming DNA. Realism has its place in SS13, but that place is small and easily forgotten for the sake of fun or nifty shit.
