Opening a refridgerator wipes it from existence - Roomba - 04-09-2015
When you open a fridge, the contents will spill out and the fridge itself disappears. It becomes a spriteless object you can pull around, and closing/entering it causes it to reappear.

In addition, the kitchen and time/space-breach fridges appear to have the usual fridge stuff, but the one in the diner will reveal only the few spoiled items. This part may very well be a feature though.
