Add a Security Records machine to Security. - TheOnlyRyan - 03-21-2015 There's one in the HOS's office, and one in the Detectives office. A lot of the time criminals with evidence are being brought to Security, sometimes without a HOS and never brought to the Detectives office. It would make sense for security to be able to check records, or at least the Detective to check (and alter) records at Security. It can be quite annoying if there isn't a HOS and you need to check evidence, to have to run to your office. (Normally running through an exploded bar in the process) Re: Add a Security Records machine to Security. - BaneOfGiygas - 03-21-2015 Um. The security computers around the department are basically less-user-friendly security records identical to what the Detective's got. Re: Add a Security Records machine to Security. - TheOnlyRyan - 03-21-2015 A lot of people have no idea how to use them, I'd say the majority don't. Re: Add a Security Records machine to Security. - Anticheese - 03-21-2015 Its not that hard, though a SECMATE user manual probably wouldn't go amiss. Here's the short version. Hold your card in your active hand. Click on the ------ slot. Type login. Remove your card and wear it again. Type secmate. Hit enter. From there, the menu should show you everything else you need. Re: Add a Security Records machine to Security. - Waffles64 - 03-21-2015 I kind of see what you're saying. As a sec your really have to rely on Detectives/HoS if you want some DNA/Blood scanned. But I also feel that that should be a special part of the Detective's job. The HoS gets it as well because, well, he's the boss. Detective's are pretty neutered cops as it is. It's good to give them something unique that makes them helpful and reliable. If sec had access to that, what would be so special about detective? Also PDA's double as a less user friendly sec records machine. That said pda updates for when someone is set to arrest would be nice. Re: Add a Security Records machine to Security. - UrsulaMejor - 03-21-2015 forensic scanners now have built in security records Re: Add a Security Records machine to Security. - TheOnlyRyan - 03-22-2015 UrsulaMejor Wrote:forensic scanners now have built in security records I never even thought of that, that's a really good idea. I look forward to trying it out, not much reason for this thread to hang around here anymore. |
