Item Idea: Robotics Remote - I-Sett - 01-24-2015

Want to repair the floor to the medbay lobby without risking your frail flesh? Or how about sending a medibot to heal injured crewmembers on the frozen and dangerous Ice Moon? Putting out hazardous plasma fires the hallway but don't want to combust? Send in your robot companions without actually running in yourself with: The Robotics Remote!

Benefits:
- Now you no longer have to cart an emergency response bot into a dangerous situation yourself risking life and limb! You simply manufacture a remote and drive that bot in and get to work. Functions in a similar manner to the remote camera viewers except: Running into a door below command grade opens it. Control keys to move. Click to activate bot function (fire bot extinguishing, floor bot repairs, securitron stun)
- Finally something that roboticists can do after changing out the cyborg batteries and waiting for even one volunteer or dead body.

Limitations:
- Not capable of operating security bots without Security clearance level card unlocking (hit with security card to unlock). And perhaps even then the bot is not capable of handcuffing the subject, merely stunning or simply issuing fines/tickets
- Use of the remote (in hand and operating a bot) causes a bright green luminescence to emanate from the user that penetrates through lockers and is extremely obvious, similar to a glow stick, making the user quite vulnerable to attack/arrest.

Traitoring possibilities and restrictions:
- Emag-ed robots are not listed on the dropdown and in order to operate them the user must also emag the robotics remote. Traitors should be warned that operation of damaged remotes (emag-ed) may lead to spontaneous rupture of the highly experimental battery resulting in fire and a small explosion after prolonged remote use. In other words: Emagging a remote will lead to an increasing chance of failure during operation, eventually resulting in a PDA-bomb sized explosion, destruction of the remote, and setting the user on fire. Other than that however, the traitor is now free to drive around a medibot in the bar injecting anyone who will sit still long enough; or slowly and systematically remove the main hallway floor with an army of floor bots; Or harass passersby with a servile firebot (cooldown applies of course).
The tradeoff being the eventual breakdown of the remote and leaving yourself vulnerable to anyone who happens by and is curious about the green glow pouring out of that disposal chute.

This sounds difficult to code, but very fun...

Just imagine a wizard being chased by a smart security bot controlled by a person with security clearance. Or the someone ACTUALLY fighting fires with a firebot. Or making terrible butt puns as the buttbot!

The possibilities are endless!

A good reason to be roboticist! I really like this idea!
