The Davy Crunkett, 10 telecrystals

A short-ranged, incredibly powerful rocket launcher with a single experimental round. Deals massive damage in a large radius (say equivalent to 3-4 pipe bombs) but the short range means the user is always gibbed. Can't be mechanic scanned.

can't see any point to this when 3-4 pipebombs can be made and thrown, tank transfer valves are bigger and easier to produce, and ten microbombs or a macrobomb will be about as strong with the added bonus of being concealed, serve the same function if you stab yourself, and are just better in every way.

just not seeing the point as is, especially at this price shrug

literally a macrobomb

Works better if it's like an actual Davy Crockett: A powerful explosive launcher but every time you fire it you get massively irradiated

that way you're still fucking yourself up with it but it isn't literally a macrobomb and it's possible to not immediately kill yourself with it

Capture Balls-3TC: Throw them at non-human mobs like wasps or space bears, capture them in the ball. Activate them in hand to set off a five second trigger to release them.

Have them have a chance to fail capture which decreases based on mobs health. Maybe emags can have them capture humans.

Unmarked Bills: 5 telecrystals?

Basically a box of money.

Why would you want a box of money?

You could bribe someone to do or not do a thing.

For instance mindslave them, tell them that you'll pay them to keep quiet after the implant wears off, then give them the box of cash.

Buy guns with the money, use it for medical supplies, invest it into the research budget so genetics gives you hulk, etc.

This may or may not require crewmen who are willing to accept bribery.

There's nothing stopping someone from spending all of their crystals on money and gambling it away, but I consider that to be funny for the time being.

I suggest to prevent such a thing being OP as fuck make the money numbers random, Anything from 1 credit to 1 billion credits, A lucky traitor should be able to hit the jackpot with this.

You can do that with a lot less suspicion by just spinning the reels on the slot machines for a few minutes.

Money is too easy to get for there to really be a need for a pile of it as a traitor item.

thats only really because of X-drone cheesing, which needs to be fixed. money is a very valuable thing for a traitor to have and right now it might as well be free.

Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Mageziya - 03-11-2015

Money as a traitor item has been suggested before and one of the main reasons it's rejected is because of how it screws with the "Amass x amount of credits objective." Another reason it's rejected is because of how merchants sell some really powerful stuff for a lot of money.

Voice Activated Microbomb: 2 crystals

A microbomb implant that, in addition to activating on user death, can also be set before implantation to activate when the implantee hears or says a specific word or phrase. Also comes in a stealth implanter that gives no message on use.

Why: it would be funny

Also a 10 crystal Macrobomb variant would be funny as well. Or maybe spend 10 crystals and get a 10-pack of them or something.

Re: Official Traitor Items Discussion Thread (Wonk) - Mageziya - 03-11-2015

That just sounds like a weird, yet easy way to kill someone. If it's a silent injection, then it's just a free kill. If if's visible, the only thing stopping them from going to surgery and getting it removed is you blowing the person up, or they'll try to robust you, in which case you just blow them up. While that might be intended, they would still be able to run around screaming about you, or just space their self to protect the rest of the crew. Self injection doesn't seem to have many advantages over normal microbomb implants. If the item was another type of mindslave implant, it could actually work as something interesting.

Mageziya Wrote:If it's a silent injection, then it's just a free kill.
it is a free kill, it is fully intended to be a free kill. In that regards it is less effective than a derringer(2 crystals, 2 kills at point-blank range) or a sleepypen(4 crystals, infinite number of free kills).

I suppose if you really wanted to make people be creative you could have it be that it only activates when the implantee says the codeword himself but I don't know if that's necessary.

Hell, if anything mindslave implants are free kills. Implant, "Go headbutt the crusher."

Alternatively: "Go into the hallway of the cloaked crushers with this matter eater mut and eat them"
