Trashbags for janitors - Ali0en - 06-15-2014

Playing as a janitor who actually does their job, picking up piles of trash is so annoying since you can't lug around both the trash cart and mop bucket. Trash bags could quickly gather up items like a mining bag does, and then can be used on a trash bin to empty it.

You should be able to pick up gibs with a trash bag, that way if traitor janitor can meatcube someone he can dispose of the meatcube evidence.

But you can already drag gibs, so that point is rather useless.

I just leave the mop bucket behind; the carryable bucket works with the mop and holds enough water for mopping, and there's enough water tanks scattered around the station that refilling it when needed isn't a problem.

You can clean up gibs with the space cleaner bottle or just a bottle filled with water.

You don't even have to visit a water tank if you put one or two of the vending machine water bottles in your bag.

The bucket's capacity should really be increased, since it's a bit silly that water bottles hold 50 but a big ol' bucket only holds 30* v

ITT: Pro Strats for being a l33t janitor.

Re: Trashbags for janitors - Ali0en - 06-16-2014

You mean nerd strats for being a nerd, fake janitor. Real ones use the mop bucket. Makes a great bullet shield.

I like the idea of a trashbag
Let it be coded exactly the mining bag, but its items are limited to trash items:
Bits of broken glass, scrap, bottles/glasses, food items, paper, etc

Trash cart does that too. And the biggest problem with making an easier-to-haul substitute for the trash cart is that there will then be only ONE reason to ever use a trash cart, and it's pretty hard to use the syndie trash compactor when people yell "space the janitor" as soon as they see you with a trash cart.

Re: Trashbags for janitors - Dauntasa - 06-16-2014

only if janitors get a traitor compactor trash bag

Re: Trashbags for janitors - Ali0en - 06-16-2014

The trash bin will still be useful because it can hold anything and everything. Trash bags fill up and must be dumped, the bin doesn't.

Re: Trashbags for janitors - Zamujasa - 06-16-2014

The bin would be a lot less of a pain in the ass to use if it stayed on top of the shit that came out of it. Even worse if it's stuck in a corner since you'll have to right click it, and at that point you can probably get up and go piss before BYOND starts responding again.

afaik you can push the bin right? Just push it onto a non cluttered tile free tile?

If you have a free space, you can push it out of the way, yes.
