if you die when you are inside of a scanner, you cant use the ghost or observe verb. you can't find them inside of the tabs or type it into the bottom bar to use. cancel-camera view also did nothing.
the door on the scanner i was in was actually locked so i dont know if that would affect it too.
easy enough to recreate. have your buddy put you in a scanner, suicide/succumb, try and use the ghost/observe verbs.

Yeah, seems to be a long-standing bug with dying inside things. Could this be fixed soon?

close byond and start it up again when this happens, then use cancel-camera view.
Since it's a longstanding bug most of us have figured out that trick and as such it's been kinda put on the backburner, i think? I know it's an annoying solution but until it gets fixed restarting byond is your best bet when it happens.
