This is a pretty self explanatory bug, when you examine people, thermals don't show up. I noticed this when I went into the barmans room after I examined the HoS, and saw that he didn't have any thermals. Then I grabbed the barmans shotgun, and was then chased by the HoS, who knew I had taken the gun.
I have a video recorded as evidence of the bug.
