Pixel Pro's HoS Application - Cast into the hat - Pixel Pro - 01-16-2026 Usual character name: Alexander Liekal BYOND username: Pixel_Pro Discord username (if you are on our discord): Pixel_Pro(Alexander Liekal/Rend) Recommended by (if applicable): None Goon servers you play: Goon3RP & Goon4RP Reason for application: I have been playing Goon on and off since the great greytide after being introduced by it through Mandalore gaming and Sseth. The one thing I always found joy in was being a pawn in someone else's plan or being able to interact with others on these stations. When I started getting more comfortable with the rules and controls I looked to the community. That is where I learned that is the meat of the fun for SS13 is and not just in the secret meth lab you can create in the mechanics' workshop. I want to apply to HoS because I not only feel capable in serving as the stations protector but I want to get involved in roleplay interactions that are front and center towards a story. Security experience (300 word minimum): Before you learn how to stun someone you have to stun yourself a couple of times due to harm baton. You also have to get slipped robusted, flashed, stung, bite, yelled at, and finally... eaten by changeling. This happened to me at the very start of being security. That was because I was meek and did not want to be seen as heavy handed, since security can become a wall to fun if the role is taken TOO seriously. I would react too slowly to attacks. I would doubt myself on every call because I believed the ones doing the crimes were staying within the rules of roleplay and I would ruin their fun. One such case was when I hesitated to batoned a crimer who was choking out a victim. I would miss shots after shot. I was frustrated easily, and I would panic and miss crucial radio calls because I had not adapted to always reading chat. Then slowly, gradually I started getting the hang of duty. I read space law, and started to form some basic principles such as trying to deescalate an incident on sight if crimes were done openly. I would also start allowing minor stuff to pass through like if someone stole something while my back was turned I would just pretend they were stalling to be kicked out of a department they were trespassing in. Allowing them to cause some shenanigans later in the round. Now I feel confident in taking action. I have learned to become level headed when multiple crimes happen at once, and people start screaming. I have also gotten comfortable with the fact that I do not know everything, might never be able to. That is why I ask any and all questions no matter how dumb they sound. Answer two or more of the following:
When I am the only security guard though I act aggressive, and weary of people's requests. I openly tell command my situation and lean hard on the help from AI. Majority of the crimes that happen I tend to watch from the side and deescalate the best I can. But if it becomes violent or repeating offense I just detain, take to a checkpoint search and brig for 30-45 seconds. A minute+ is only reserved to repeats and first degree crimes. I try to let fewer thefts happen too so engineers and AI are not overwhelmed with damages. Answer one or more of the following fun questions (because it's important for the HoS to be fun):
Previous bans (while this will not affect your application lying about it will): I DO NOT HAVE ANY BANS. That I am aware of. However in my early time with Goon I was given ONE warning about how I shot a riot smoke shell into the hall and shuttle before end of round. So I guess a no no once? Call me BAAAAAAAAADMy picture did not go through
