Learning how long to actually hold crimers for or knowing when to just let people off with warnings was always a struggle for me, too lenient and people may question your ethic, too harsh and you risk ruining the round for someone. So I've had to adapt my usual round. start out giving tickets, blowing my whistle running after people, swirlying clowns and building a rapport of the current ne'er-do-wells. Slowly moving to brigging for 1-2 minutes if they had done serious crimes and eventually going to exile if they've been a constant pain to security. Other times it's chasing crimers down the halls and maybe letting them give me the slip if they haven't done anything terrible or even letting beepsky do the chasing. Some rounds I take it slower and talk with random crewmembers setting up shops, moving junk around, or lending a hand when someone asks for help over radio and walking into their elaborate death traps. When I get there I have to make that decision of if i play dumb and go along with it or call for backup and shut it down if its late into the round or just been quiet enough to not warrant any suspicion in character. As time has gone on I've found myself enjoying the trials of security and wanting to not carry all the best things on me to catch criminals. I can admit I used to carry robust-eez or min-max cells for equipment but as I play I've found it not to be fun. Every round I find myself leaning more to RP and crew interactions rather than just sitting inside security waiting for John Crime™️to show up and get things rolling. I like to think I've been there to help people escalate their conflict with the station and with security. Answer two or more of the following:
