Lily Curie's HoS Application - Spell Tech - 09-26-2025 Usual character name: Lily Curie BYOND username: Spell Tech Discord username (if you are on our discord): SpellTech Recommended by (if applicable): Lucky Cobra, stuck_in_void_HELP Goon servers you play: Goon 1. Sometimes 3 or 4 Reason for application: I always love seeing a Head of Security join a round. They’re usually chill people, and make rounds more enjoyable. Some of the HoS players I used to play with encouraged me to apply a while ago, but I didn’t, because there was usually someone more experienced than me playing as a HoS in each round. Nowadays there isn’t a HoS when I play on Goon 1, and I’m more than ready to fill those boots. Security experience (300 word minimum): I’ve been playing Goonstation since 2021, and I have over 1500 hours. My most played job is security officer, and I love playing as one. I’ve spent a lot of time with different security players, and I always paid close attention to what other security players were doing, especially the Heads of Security. Because I played with so many experienced players, I understand what makes a security player fun to be in a round with. I’ve shown the ropes to countless players. I really enjoy showing people how to use secmate consoles. It’s a crucial skill for security players, and they have some cool features I think are criminally underutilized. It’s also fun to show new players how to arrest people. I have my trainee pretend that I’m a criminal and I walk through the steps of how to arrest me, search for contraband, set up the brig locker and timers, and so on. I don’t just teach security players. I’ve taught many antagonists as a security officer. It’s fun to show confused traitors how to use their uplinks, or to explain why their mindhack implant didn’t work on me, or why I’m immune to their revolutionary flash. Back when I played regularly, I was treated as a de facto HoS by the playerbase. When there wasn’t a HoS online, people would come to me for guidance on things like how long to put someone in the brig, or whether someone should be let off with a warning or arrested. Crew members would also come to me if they had been mistreated by a member of security, since people trusted me and knew I would deal with it. I’m more than ready to be a HoS because I have plenty of experience doing everything that the Head of Security is normally expected to do.
It’s also really important to pay attention to the radio and communicate with your team. If you see someone committing a major crime, tell your team about it. If you set someone to arrest, tell the team why. If you aren’t sure why someone is set to arrest, then ask your team over the radio.
