Salv Change - OVAIggy - 08-21-2025

So, I've been talking to a few people, and I've come up with something that might encourage Salvs to be a little more.. salvagey like. It seems like from what I've ascertained, salvagers mostly fall into the category of wrecking and murdering the station, without much real.. salvaging to be done aside from a few things round start and the such.

I'd like to propose a role similar to Syndicate Commander for the Salvagers, something like 'Head Salvager', whom is responsible for directing the salvagers during the round. This not only opens the door to discussions between the captains of the two vessels, but also gives Salvagers someone to look to for guidance/direction. It's my hope that something akin to this would also pave the way to more coordination between the Salvagers, as well as formulation of plans and more interesting rounds. 

I haven't had a idea as to what would distinguish the Head from the regular Salvagers, but my idea is something like armory access/more purchasing power, something that would prevent salvagers from simply buying whatever they consider to be good lethally.

Open to discussions, suggestions and changes about this idea, it's very rough, but I believe that it could be very good for the game-mode and hopefully invite some more roleplay with the hierarchy!

This has been suggested before, thought it was a good idea then and think it's a good one now. I'm not sure about having a designated armorer or anything that would give them more real power though, maybe something cosmetic that would define who's in charge? Maybe something like the captain's really big hat?

i’m certainly see topic about head of salvager already and there was mostly get positive feedback already it just lack someone who code it.

I'd also be for adding a leader to salvs but it's up to the person or people in charge of the game mode developements.

Leader thing isn't new... but you could vote one at the start.

I think voting would be actually be pretty good. Maybe there could be a five minute grace period, then Salvagers are invited to vote amongst themselves for a Captain, which then upgrades their ID and bestows upon them a funny hat?
I'm actually uh.. learning to code a little to see if I can do something with this idea, since it seems like it's generally well-liked, but without a coder.
