[Goon1] Revised suggestions for ultra-lowpop (NOT escalation requirements) - Jimbo20 - 06-03-2025 Ultra-low pop would probably be less than 10 players on board, might need to be higher or lower. So based on the discussion in the other thread, I would appreciate feedback on my suggestions for ONLY "Really Low Pop" (~10 players or less): - Lower chance of there being a starting antag (NOT minimal, NOT gone, just a lower chance) - More PvE events to enable something to "happen" without player input (this would have to not be too crazy, not 57 doom portals) - Enabling of sleeper agent rolls on ultra-lowpop (ONLY IF there is no starting antag) - Potentially, the ability for other people to become antags later on into the shift IF no sleeper roll (say, maybe 25 minutes in?) (e.g. "Something latent activates within you. You are now aware that you are a Changeling!" - this could be made better, or disregarded entirely as a suggestion) -- I just think this would allow for people to focus on their lowpop-projects with a lower, but still present chance of being murdered 5 mins in, and with there also still being the potential of "rolling antag" to use whatever funny thing you may be doing. If the pop suddenly became higher (unsure on the cap), then normal antag roll rules, and normal PvE event weighting would apply. (the intent behind this is to help people not get as mad at others for antagging on very-lowpop, or at least make early murder less common but not Gone, because 20 or so minutes gives you some time to do something notable with the shift.) This obviously would need fleshing out and tweaking, but I am keen to hear thoughts or additional suggestions. Or, whether or not this suggestion is even necessary. Cheers. Wouldn't recommend them. Not everyone WANTS to have "pve events to fight" all the time on very-very lowpop (i dont think any abbreviation will catch on). the odd AI mob event could be cool, but what makes very lowpop most interesting is the people and the silly little things they are doing there are other events can be interesting and fun, like white holes -- i don't know the whole list of current pve events used or unused I *do* think, however, enabling sleeper agent rolls on very lowpop could be the bare minimum at the moment. Not as a guarantee, preferably if the antag dies (bc theres gonna be no midrolls), though it should still be possible for it to roll as an event, not fully disabled. (more antag =/= automatically "interesting", but it's a start) |
