Syndikits - JORJ949 - 12-11-2024 The basic idea is that its like a surplus crate, but is generated from a list of preset boxes, generally designed around one gimmick and contains a little less than a surplus, probably 10-11 TC cost that gives 11-14 TC worth of gear, for example: The "Im with Stupid" kit - Deluxe mindhack implant - 2 Fake moustaches - 2 Agent cards - 2 Mini syndicate hats (slightly shorter syndie hats) - FREE Im with stupid Tshirt! The "Loud and proud" kit - Black market megaphone - Syndicate outfit - Agent card with preprogrammed Syndicate Operative job - Syndicate headset - Microbomb implant - SPES 6 (Nukie shotgun, its weaker than 12) with a couple boxes of spare ammo Give general thoughts on the idea and ideas for kits below. RE: Syndikits - Lord_earthfire - 12-12-2024 I had the idea of "special discount kits". This means kits of goods that are not guaranteed but rotate each round. They were mostly thought for gimmicks and enable comboes of job-locked gear you normally don't got access to. Examples i has in mind were (besides moving the delux cloner kit to these): Grow-your-own-Mucher-Kit (4tc): - 3 maneater seeds - A welding iron - 2 packed hydroponic trays - A bloodbag - A happy plant nutrient mix Chemnadiers kit (7TC) - a grenade launcher - 2 satchels of chemnades RE: Syndikits - Lefinch - 12-12-2024 I definitely think this idea has legs for anyone willing to datacrunch/observe the less used syndicate stuff on the lower end of the cost scale and "throw it in as a freebie" as it were: add it to kits/offers to maybe tempt people into trying a little utility, or doing something novel when they wouldn't usually consider it because they're not as willing to expend the cost on a tool they're not primarily aiming for or avoid out of a repeating habit of not being used to it so not buying it etc. That's more of an aside to the actual idea here though, which I think could be good for priming people for ideas/approaches and helping them avoid choice paralysis. The surplus crate I hear you cry, and the surplus crate is good, but it's also essentially a gamble that might not remotely match up with anything you might want to do. This is more of a middle ground: You know what you're getting, but the rotation means you're not counting on it every antag roll and it might tempt you down a path you wouldn't usually try. RE: Syndikits - Rukert - 12-12-2024 I have a Kit Idea as well that’s be cool with this concept Certified Distraction Kit: (12TC) DetMax Cartridge SoundsDreamS Pro Cartridge Werewolf Ringtone Kit Syndicates In a Pipebomb Black Market Megaphone High Pressure Larynx Syringe Very Syndicate Hat RE: Syndikits - Troondool - 12-12-2024 "Enraged Cattle" Kit: - Minotaur mask - Rugby Kit - Bull's Charge Wizard Ring - a can of Brave Bull "Prehistorical" Kit - The Hunter's spear - some form of pelt and antlers - 1 raptor egg and a chicken carrier - a shitty grill "Rockstar" Kit - the full Noise Marine suit - 1 or 2 Amplified Vuvuzelas - Orpheus electric guitar x1 - military headset x1 RE: Syndikits - JORJ949 - 12-12-2024 (12-12-2024, 08:05 AM)Lefinch Wrote: That's more of an aside to the actual idea here though, which I think could be good for priming people for ideas/approaches and helping them avoid choice paralysis. Yeah the main idea is "a surplus crate but the gear actually works together" so you dont get 7 wiretaps or something like that RE: Syndikits - Cal - 12-13-2024 I think at this point a general rebalance of the costs of traitor items should be done, like the mindhack cloner should all be bundled together for the lower price for the amount of effort it takes. RE: Syndikits - Kotlol - 12-13-2024 This is an old idea I came up with a long time ago and it eventually was told: "Nah this is not what traitors need, we want them to customize easily" And it came down to "Rebalancing TC for certain items" RE: Syndikits - freedo5 - 12-13-2024 This is a nice idea, it can help people without a gimmick in mind choose what to do during the round . Also i think it would be funny if these kits were kinda random each round and limited too, another agent might steal your black friday deal and it would avoid an oversaturation with people getting the same kit. RE: Syndikits - Flaborized - 12-13-2024 I don't like the idea of bundles for traitors since I think traitor is a gamemode that's primarily about you picking out uniquely tailored gear for what you want to accomplish and the versatility of it is a big selling point. You're supposed to *figure out* what a good loadout for you would be, but if we put in bespoke kits then there's suddenly these "safe options" that you *know* work laid out for you and it takes a lot of the creativity away possibly. If you want the game to choose your loadout *for* you you should have to deal with the randomness of a surplus crate. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind something like certain items being randomly discounted for rounds, this could similarly encourage people to experiment with stuff they haven't used before while still keeping to the general theme of traitors |
