Yes, this sounds ridiculous.
Which is why i'm suggesting it, of course.
Let changelings absorb DNA (and, if possible, the consciousness) of anyone that was unfortunate enough to fall victim to a loafer, be it by force, clumsiness, or the spontaneous will to become bread.
Now, i'm assuming you could just eat the whole loaf and end up with the total DNA and new hivemind members, but it raises a bit of questions.
What if the victim has respawned?
I guess the now alive victim could stay alive until death, in which case would be transferred to the hivemind after a few seconds, as ripping them out of their body sounds plain annoying. Though, i'm guessing this was already thought of given the ling could take DNA from decently old bodies whose soul may have already found another shell.
this would make a hilarious ling gimmick, loafing people like a normal antag with an infinite sleepy pen full of neurotoxin and LSD before eating said loaf and absorbing them
TL;DR: let ling eat prison loaf made of man to get their DNA and add to hivemind
