Mirror Vest - RSOD - 11-25-2024
Oh god.
Say you're a traitor, hiding behind reinforced glass when you realise weaponry that fires physical projectiles is now lost to time as security gets ready to blast you with lasers like a storm trooper army that actually knows how to aim.
WELL NO MORE!
I propose: a mirror vest.
Made with glass and an armor vest, this thing is pretty much a mirror duct taped to an armor vest.
UPSIDES:
Reflects (the majority of) lasers that are shot and land in front of you, redirected randomly at a 30° angle.
DOWNSIDES:
The mirror part, well, is still a mirror. Take enough brute damage over a short period of time and the glass will shatter, drastically lowering protection and being useless for reflecting lasers. Getting hit with a projectile does this instantly, regardless of damage! (except syringes because of logic)
so yeah, this may end up being a gimmicky type of armor, maybe buyable with TC at uplinks?

Decent idea.. till you remember most of security doesn't use lazers but tazers.
Also the detective would be your bane. So if anything.. it's neat even if it deflects tazers.
8/10 gimmick.

I would not be a fan of this if it only deflects lasers and not tasers. Tasers are already quite a bit stronger then lasers by a good bit and I feel if an item like this gets commonly used it would widen that gap even more (once again assuming it only deflects lasers)

Sounds pretty fun, maybe if the vest gets shattered it does some bleed to you too? With the shards and all.
