What mechanic in other ss13 should import in. - meaow589 - 09-18-2024

Spacestation13 has many vary of mechanic in there each source.
Some of them can found only in TG some of them in goonstation13.
This discussion will talk about what mechanic you like in other source and should consider to import them in.
For me I like some mechanic in doctoring in ss14 because they have varies of medicine more than us and many of them has drug interaction that lead to doctoring need to think more before use also the defibrillator also can need to recharge which is more make senses to me.
Also about engineering : I like how they have gravity system.
The research department quite very have important role in the station to control anomaly in station and upgrade station by advance research.

Although most of the posts here will probably be wyci's, I'll throw my hat into the ring: Weapon wielding. CEV Eris has a feature where you can choose wield just about anything with 2 hands. This increases accuracy for guns (some can't be shot at all if not wielded), damage for some meelees, etc. Many goonstation guns are already two-handed, but giving the option to lower them and to use your other hand would be sooo cool. Obviously it'd require a lot of new inhands though, so that won't happen anytime soon.

Agree with the points so far mentioned, especially doctoring but also;

I would love, love, love to have bitshifting in goonstation. Just the ability to cosmetically move your sprite about for RP would be so neat.

And in an admittedly also very wyci example - Id love to see some fancier and hopefully meaningful and fun cooking options than stuffing things in an oven

I instantly fell in love with pixelshifting the first time I saw it on another server. Would be a cool QoL

Mechs. I really really would love mechs. But I know it will never happen unless someone creates some Goon specific type of mech that looks nothing like or acts nothing like the mechs from other servers. Plus it would have to be borderline useless because can't let the crew have something powerful that they can build easily.

The station being a spaceship.

I mean.. speaks for it self? Why not fight off pirates and such with a living space ship that is flying around while we work.
And you have to "STOP MOVING" near a relay point to load off things for the market.

A NT traveling ship would be cool.

This one I try to suggest before but I think with ss13 engine might not able to do much ss14 already did that right?

If i remember correctly there was a map being made that was a controllable ship
