Observer/Ghost should have Spectroscopic Goggles - 444explorer - 09-22-2023 Ghosts should be able to examine chemical vapor/liquid to see what's in it like Spectroscopic Goggles! If they can see certain objects and antags, why not chemicals? I don't really have much to add other than it'd be nice when spectating and wondering what that weirdly coloured mix the Clown is running about with is. RE: Observer/Ghost should have Spectroscopic Goggles - Waffleloffle - 09-22-2023 I think the main thing about this is that it could be used to game secret chemicals, somehow RE: Observer/Ghost should have Spectroscopic Goggles - Dhaidburt - 09-22-2023 (09-22-2023, 03:44 PM)Waffleloffle Wrote: I think the main thing about this is that it could be used to game secret chemicals, somehow I'm fine with this honestly. If you're the type to hunt out secret chems, I don't imagine you spectating and viewing someone through the entire process of making the secret chems. If you aren't, then you probably won't even catch that they're making a secret chem until it's already made Though I feel like the biggest pain to code would be Mirabilis interacting with these ghost-goggles. As funny as it would be to get ghosts high, I don't wanna imagine what happens if you could poison a ghost RE: Observer/Ghost should have Spectroscopic Goggles - KikiMofo - 09-22-2023 Secret chems don't really matter anymore since you can just go ask recipes on discord spoiler channel. Don't really know what Observers and Ghosts seeing chemicals adds though. I don't have any reason against it though. RE: Observer/Ghost should have Spectroscopic Goggles - DasBrain - 09-22-2023 In my opinion, ghosts need some overhaul. If a ghost is spectating a someone, it should see what they can see. But currently, if you observe the AI, you can't see through walls, while the AI can. And you can see things that are outside of the camera view, and the AI won't see. Same with SecHUD/DocPro goggles. As ghost you can toggle the arrest status/health, but when you observe someone with those, you don't have those overlays. And then there are mutations like X-Ray, night-vision... This is also important for Changeling Hivemind members, which are more or less permanent spectators. They really should see what the host is seeing, no more, no less. I think ghosts should also be able to toggle those effects, so they can find blindspots. Or still have X-Ray when observing someone. (Of course not in restricted z-levels). And with that, they might activate spectroscopic goggles. And see what chems are in something. Or don't if they they fear getting spoiled. |
