Action Bars for MechComp Components - Jakson - 05-12-2023

Too easy to quickly and silently sabotage mechcomp component setups left in public. It makes sense for it to be some kind of 1-2 second action bar to unwrench a part.

Could be interesting but probably 0.5-1 seconds?

Hell no. Mechcomp takes already far too long to set up anything remotely more complex. Adding action bar would make that even worse. It's not as bad as construction, but pretty close with how many clicks and menus you need to sift through.

If you want to really protect your mechcomp, hide it. The range on it is more than high enough that this is not a problem

Perhaps some method to "reinforce" a mechcomp component after wrenching it, and only then would it have an action bar? For instance, your nefarious pda spam machine in a closet in mechanics doesn't warrant any further reinforcement because whos gonna touch it other than engineering, but you might want to keep the teleporter hub in the bar a bit more secure, at least enough to make fiddling with it take some time and draw some eyes.

Maybe be able to weld them in after wrenching them down? So you need a welding tool and an action bar to unweld them.

That makes sense and is pretty consistent with other machinery around station
