HoS Application - Nidalee Dshara - Nidabutt - 05-20-2022 Usual character name: Nidalee Dshara BYOND username: Nidabutt Discord username (if you are on our discord): Nidabutt Recommended by (if applicable): Several people over the last year or so, I can't remember who said what though and I don't want to misquote. Goon servers you play: Goon 1 Reason for application: Security without a Head of Security can be quite messy and prevents sec from performing some basic duties such as helping officers acquire new gear if gibbed/lost. Perhaps more importantly though HoS is very useful to keep unity amongst the sec team, especially with newer officers who are more likely to engage with a HoS' attempts to unify the team and provide orders/goals. When security has no guidance it's more likely the team will devolve into questionable behaviour with unfair brig times, inappropriate executions against innocents, etc... It's also much easier to help newer sec players as the HoS since they're more likely to actually pay attention to your advice and look for your guidance, I've seen many occasions of newer officers executing criminals for minor crimes or give extremely long sentences including perma brig and it's very hard to intervene verbally as a fellow sec officer compared to as HoS. I'd like to try and provide some leadership and moral guidance as HoS, to keep things fair and fun. Security experience (300 word minimum): I've played for a few years on and off now and in that time played a lot of security, it's always been the role I enjoy the most since stuff is always happening and there's usually a lot of interactivity with other players, it's very rare you have a boring round as sec. I've held off on a HoS application for a LONG time, I wanted to make sure I feel like I have the knowledge for the role and get a better idea of how a HoS player should act compared to a security officer. I've also, naturally, had a lot of experience as an antagonist and have a solid understanding of how to fairly deal with different antags from interactions with experienced sec players. Like I said above, security just doesn't quite feel right without a HoS around and I'd like to be able to help fill that gap in rounds that lack one, since I play at various hours of the day which often don't have any HoS players. I've progressed significantly from earlier days and think I'm finally ready to step up to the role, I've always tried to work closely with the HoS to better understand how sec should act as well as learning the duties they should perform and etiquette they should carry. I will certainly take a more relaxed approached whenever playing HoS compared to a standard officer and focus on coordinating the team and interacting with the crew more heavily, I am quite fond of the more managerial side it provides and I think it will be a really enjoyable chance to try a more laid back style of gameplay. I'll conclude this section by saying that I always first and foremost try to be FAIR with antagonists provided that they're being fair with the crew, if an antagonist is silently and colding murdering people it's far more likely they'll be executed (as opposed to brigging and confiscating contraband) compared to an antagonist who has a fun gimmick for the crew in how they're going about their criming, even if the crimes are technically the same. Answer two or more of the following:
Answer one or more of the following fun questions (because it's important for the HoS to be fun): [*]What's a security gimmick that you've ran or wanted to run?
[*]My favourite was probably clown security, I've ran it a few times in the past. It's goofy and silly, using bananas and lube (carefully) as part of your crimer catchin' kit can make things quite hilarious - especially with the humiliation factor of the poor antag who gets banana slipped into a clownsec baton. A gimmick I want to do though? I've wanted to run an undercover sec team gimmick for a very long time, with officers infiltrating different departments, using secret comms channels to share information and catch antagonists unaware - reverse spies! Though in practice it is extremely hard to pull off since it requires the consent and coordination of an entire department - perhaps with the authority of HoS I could inspire it in my fellow officers though. Previous bans (while this will not affect your application lying about it will): Week-long ban when I was a much newer player as captain. Escalating situation between myself and security in which I overstepped escalation rules and (in a show of very maidenless behaviour) uploaded a non-human law against sec and inspired a revolution against them. Definitely deserved the ban and it was a good early lesson when it comes to heated situations, always let admins resolve that kinda thing instead of taking matters into your own hands. RE: HoS Application - Nidalee Dshara - DummySian - 05-25-2022 Good officer and would make a good HoS Yeah +1 RE: HoS Application - Nidalee Dshara - jan.antilles - 06-26-2022 We really appreciate the time and effort you put into this application, but have decided to deny it due to lack of community feedback. You're welcome to reapply in 60 days, which would be August 26. In the meantime, I'd encourage you to keep sec officering! |
