Sea Excavating
I was collecting coral and seashells yesterday and it gave me an idea: sea excavating. It would be neat if you could use a metal detector to comb the ocean floor for baubles and other small treasures. Here are some things you could find:
- Coins
- Chests/Safes
- Jewelry
- Scrap/Debris
- Robot parts
- Ore
- Active landmines
- Gems
- Smooth stones
- Artifacts
- Sea glass
- Trilobite nests
- Petrified wood
- Fossils
Seashell Buffs
Seashell collecting is fun, but a large part of the hobby is collecting seashells that are unique or very high quality. Here are some things that could spice up seashell collecting on ocean maps:
- Seashell quality levels
- Variations among size, coloration, and type
- Crafting uses
- Sedimentary beach stone design for tiles/walls with holes, seashells, organic matter stuck in them.

Miners having more to do in the trench actually sounds really neat - digging up buried treasure and junk honestly sounds awesome.

I imagined most of this happening on the station z-level since the trench has a lot to do already.
