Right now the forklift is kind of the perfect getaway vehicle, even when people get pulled off of it, it's pretty trivial to just hop back on, and it makes you the next thing to invincible when you're riding. It's a little much for a humble warehouse vehicle.

Fork lift isn't Indestructible, Just Resistant to Everything bar Explosions- Source? Frequent forklift user.

I agree that it's kind of dumb and unintuitive how resistant it is, when big bulky submarine tanks and spaceproof combat based pods can take less of a beating. It'd be cool if you still got hit by shots and chemical smokes when in the forklift, because logically, since the bit you sit in is open, you wouldn't be fully immune to those like you are now. Another way they could be fixed is they could have a health var that's similar to minisubs, where you just gotta smack it or shoot it a bit to either blow it up or make it break down and require fixing.
It's not a huge deal since it's not really abused that much, but it is pretty goofy and fixing it would be Good.

The forklift is a well known and frequently abused relic. The coder who made them isn't around to fix them anymore, from what I've seen, so if anyone has some good ideas, share them here and we can talk about making a patch, since it's in 2016 code.

Is it just the forklift, or are things like the floorbuffer just as broken?

Buffers and Cargo Tugs work differently, or rather they work more like segways. Forklifts are Uniquely functional.
