Stepping off a blob tile does not stop the blob from absorbing you - drWoof - 07-18-2019
If the blob starts absorbing you, you step off the tile, and at the very last second it places a tile beneath you before you have a time react - it will absorb you, even though you weren't on a blob tile for the most of absorption time.
If this is a feature, then it is a very bad one and there should be a way to tell if the blob has stopped absorbing you or not.
