As a borg, you can attempt to give yourself items, and if you accept, the item will drop to the floor where another person can pick it up to use.
Passed off a sound synthesizer and omni-tool this way.

Something similar also occurs if you mess around with a beaker and a machine that accepts beakers. I forget how to replicate the bug, but you can drop the beaker and never be able to pick it up again, and others can't actually drop the beaker if they pick it up.
