I suggest that the esword instantly removes arms and cauterizes them when the attacker is targeting the arm slot. Currently the target dies long before a single arm is cut off.

I was somehow expecting this suggestion to be "allow people to attach e-swords after removing their arms". Your idea is just as awesome if not more so, although it nerfs e-swords somewhat.
