You already can. Much like real life, using a wrench on a window will leave you with a deconstructed window: shattered glass.

Can't you just pick up the pieces and put them in a reclaimer?

iirc smoke doesnt do that instantly, it applies them over time.

Fact: Everything about chemistry is horrifically overpowered.

Change the ID computer so that any head can use it, but you can only add access to doors that your ID has. Then add an ID computer to every head's office. This would allow the CE, RD and MD to recruit members to their specific department or grant access to specific rooms for various things. Useful when the HoP is dead/nonexistent/a changeling, as they often are. Although this could make the HoP feel kind of pointless in many situations when they aren't dead/nonexistent/a changeling.

Allow the AI to operate the ID computer without a second ID. Ive had a bunch of moments where someone lost their ID and the HoP had already fucked off into the night, and instead of following them around and opening everything for them like a psychic emag, I wanted to set them up a new card, but couldn't, cus the AI doesnt have an ID.

At least customs tend to have a manufacturer which can make blank IDs, right? Or at least HoP rooms have such?

Best idea: Remove HOP as a job entirely, give every head of staff an ID console.

I mean that the naked crewbie can put in an ID, but the AI cant do anything with it until they find a HoP level ID. At that point they could just make their own ID, or just keep the ID and run around opening things.

Make the HoP what the RD/MD/CE is for their departments, but for service. Allow the AI to give access to people if they put their IDs in ID computers. Give every head the ability to give people access that they already have themselves. Instead of having all ID changes rely on one specific job, have the duty be split between up to six different heads and the AI. Currently, if the HoP is a traitor, you're just not getting ID changes from them. But the AI is guaranteed to be safe at the start of the round, granted that it exists. Change the HoP from "captain 2" to basically what the other heads are.

I really like this, this idea deserves its own thread. The ID computers could be a lot more robust. I heard talk in discord a while ago about merging the banking system/computer and ID computer into one. And allowing the HoP or Captain to change banking records, like create new fake bank accounts and link them to certain ID's and pins.

Doing either would be a decent bit of work I imagine, but they'd be good to do jointly.

Gun Ideas:
  • Add a pistol that has a toggleable safety
  • Make blank ammunition that only produces noise
  • Give the HoS a dissemble gun ability. They can grab a gun and split it into two separate pieces that need to be combined again before the gun is useable. This should be accomplished visually by literally splitting the guns sprite into two separate sprites
  • Fuck it, make the above post apply to other weapons and items too. The idea of the HoS ripping items into two is hilarious
  • More stuff to do with target aiming. Aiming for different body parts should have success rates. Different limbs could have different hit rates for various effects. You might get a headshot for extra damage, or do reduced damage by just grazing them. Aim for leg to slow someone down, or an arm to induce dropping
  • Have other statuses do things like veer your shots off, or roll chances to dodge shots. Become a drunken master!
SUB IDEA: Drunken Master
Alcohol should have a magic balancing number in inebriation levels. A little too sober and alcohol just slurs your words and makes you misstep. A little too drunk and you start passing out and throwing up. BUT, if you reach just the right stage of drunkenness and can maintain it with careful applications of additional booze, you take reduced stamina and health loss from receiving brute damage

Really shitty Admin monster:Item offering Panda

Panda spawns and offers a random hand held item to nearby players.  Could be useful, could be useless, could be horrifyingly detrimental or even suicidal to pick up.

The point is, you gotta pick it up.  Because not picking it up is a great disrespect to the long line of Space Pandas offering free gifts to passerby's, and it therefore has to murder you for it.  Nothing stops it til you either pick that fucking thing up or you're dead on the ground.  Pods, Lockers, Walls, Weapons, none of it will save you!  The bear will get you eventually!

Bonus points if it teleports to a nearby area the player can't see, meaning adventure zones and the shuttle isn't safe if you find it.

The player, of course, would have a good minute or so to pick up the item before the bear goes berserk, with messages heavily encouraging the player to pick up the item.  Timer would count as done if the player leaves the bears sight before it would normally end.

Because ideas based on weird internet things is always really god damn stupid and should never be implemented a fantastic idea.

The Panda Bear pulls an [Cerenkite Bar] out of nowhere.  It appears to be offering it to you.
It seems to really wanna give the [Cerenkite Bar] to you.
The Panda Bear is giving you a really uncomfortable stare.  It seems to really wanna give you the [Cerenkite Bar].
The Panda Bear is making seemingly violent noises.  Maybe you should take the [Cerenkite Bar].
Oh Shit!  The Panda Bear is charging at you!
~
The Panda Bear seems happy that you took the [Cerenkite Bar].
