Also AI shells can survive in the shuttle warp thing, as long as the initial thing doesn't launch them into the edge of the z level. Then they can fly around freely, and the ion trails (from the propulsion) get flung around by the warp speed stuff. Flying to the left makes them hit the shell. My shell exploded after this.

As an amusing aside, the engine is more than capable of running with a cold hot loop and a hot cold loop
